Another Euro security glitch as Croatia fan runs onto pitch

Just as UEFA was warning England and Russia over the behaviour of their fans Euro 2016 saw another incident when a Croatia supporter managed to run onto the field after his team had scored on Sunday.

The fan in a national team shirt joined the players piled above goalscorer Luka Modric in the 41st minute of the game against Turkey at the Park des Princes stadium in Paris.

He was quickly led away by stewards but Croatia could face sanctions from the ruling body UEFA over the incident.

Modric himself said he didn't notice immediately that the fan had joined the celebrations.

"It could have been have been a Turkey supporter but thank god it was one of our supporters," he said. "He was not dangerous but with a positive attitude."
