Bosnia has no alternative to European integration, says PM

Bosnian Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdic said in Sarajevo on Friday that Great Britain's decision to leave the European Union must not affect Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) efforts to join the EU as soon as possible and that it must not be used as an excuse to slow down the launched reforms.

"BiH's commitment is that it wants to be part of the European Union. This wish is motivated by facts and not emotions, and the facts are that the EU is the number one economy in the world, that it is a society of knowledge and innovation, and that, on average, people don't live better anywhere else on the planet," Zvizdic said in a press release, adding that 76 percent of Bosnia's population clearly supported joining the EU.

Small and poor countries such as BiH have no security if they remain isolated and outside integration processes, Zvizdic said.
