Relations between Albania and Serbia are now better than ever, I appreciate efforts made by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to remove the legacy of animosities, the visiting Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said in Nis, Serbia, on Friday.
I am confident that all should realise that the better the situation in one country, the better it will be in all other countries in the region. We should draw the right lessons from history, Rama told the Belgrade-based B92 television.
Rama, who was on a two-day working visit, on Thursday attended a security forum in the Serbian capital of Belgrade and on Friday went to Nis to attend a Serbia-Albania business forum that brought together some 300 entrepreneurs from both countries.
Asked to elaborate on his statement that Serbia should recognise the independence of Kosovo, the Albanian PM said that the highest form of political tact was to speak the truth.
It is necessary to share with your interlocutors what you think and it is decent to resume talks that may not end in agreement, Rama said.
Vucic said that the Albanians and the Serbs were the two greatest nations of the Western Balkans.
Rama said that Albanian and Serbian leaders should treat the two countries' integration with the European Union as a priority.
