Three arrested in Bosnia on suspicion of terrorism

Bosnia and Herzegovina's police on Monday arrested three persons in the north-western town of Velika Kladusa on suspicion of their involvement in a conspiracy with foreign paramilitary units, and during the search of their houses, arms and a flag of the Islamic State were found, the Bosnian State Investigation and Protection Agency  (SIPA) reported in a press release.

The men aged 27, 55 and 28 were arrested as part of an operation codenamed "Damascus", which was launched in September 2014 within the Bosnian authorities' crackdown on a network of Islamic State supporters.

The suspects' identities were not disclosed in the press release.

During the search of the properties used by the suspects, the police confiscated six hand grenades, mines, machetes, ammunition and an IS flag.

The arrested persons are being questioned by SIPA investigators.
