2016 blue-dyed diesel quotas issued for 85,000 farmers

The Paying Agency for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development on Monday approved the consumption of so-called "blue-dyed" diesel fuel for 2016 for 85,184 farms and the total volume granted amounts to 171.3 million litres.

The blue-dyed fuel will be made available to farmers as of January 18. The annual quota can be consumed by farmers until December 31 each year and a new quota is approved again in January the following year.

The Agency recalls that the approved amounts are based on applications for single direct payments lodged in 2015 in accordance with the relevant regulation for excise duties on gas-oil dyed blue and earmarked for agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture.
