Commercial bank deposits reach HRK 245bn in July

Commercial bank deposits in Croatia have continued to increase, reaching HRK 245.1 billion at the end of July 2015, which was an increase of 2% compared with July 2014, analysts at Raiffeisenbank Austria (RBA) said on Friday.

The total deposits, including deposit money and fixed-term kuna and foreign-currency deposits, increased by HRK 4.7 billion compared with July 2014. Compared with June 2015, they grew by HRK 827.9 million or 0.3%, and compared with the end of 2014, they rose by HRK 795.5 million or 0.3%.
The analysts said that the annual and monthly increases were due to a rise in savings and time deposits, which had grown by HRK 856.7 million or 0.4% since July 2014 to reach HRK 198.2 billion at the end of July 2015.
Domestic-currency deposits totalled HRK 34.05 billion, which was a decrease of HRK 1.03 billion or 2.9%, while foreign-currency deposits exceeded HRK 164 billion, increasing by 0.9% or HRK 1.4 billion.
Household deposits, which accounted for 83.8% of all deposits, reached HRK 166.1 billion, going up by 0.2% or HRK 277.4 million compared with July 2014, while corporate deposits increased by 1.3% or 301 million to HRK 24 billion.
