Ericsson Nikola Tesla inks HRK 150 mn deal with Kazakhstan health ministry

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development on Thursday signed a HRK 150 million contract with Croatia's Ericsson Nikola Tesla (NT) company to create an IT programme for the ministry, Ericsson NT said on Thursday.

Ericsson NT is to develop an IT system to cater for the national health system including analysis, projections, adaptation to local needs and installing the programme which will be conducted over the next year, as well as providing services for three years.

The contract will facilitate the Kazakh ministry and related health institutions to introduce international standards and support for key reforms to the health sector in that country.

The contract refers to the creation of a national system of electronic health cards and business intelligence system. Networking the health sector's IT system will result in better efficiency and quality management as well as providing accurate and timely information.

"Realisation of the IT platform and inter-operability is an important step as part of Kazakhstan's e-Health development strategy," Vice Healthcare and Social Development Minister Aleksei Tsoi said.
