EUR 105 mln allotted for centres of competence in Croatia

Competence centres aimed at boosting the capacity of Croatia's business sector can count on 105 million euro, and 85% of that amount will be non-repayable funds earmarked by the EU, according to a presentation of those centres held in Osijek on Tuesday.

Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Tomislav Tolusic said that grants per centre could range between one and 15 million euro, and the sums allocated for that purpose should be sufficient for the establishment of all planned centres of competence in Croatia.

Some ten centres are to be built and the first centre of competence, which is to be established in Virovitica next month, is intended to assist the timber industry.
