Industrial output up 4.4 pct, more than expected

Croatia's industrial production in February was up 4.4% from the same month of 2015, which is a slower increase than the month before but higher than anticipated.

The national statistical office said on Thursday that according to seasonally-adjusted data, industrial output in February declined by 1.6% from January and that according to working day-adjusted data, it was 4.4% higher than in February 2015.

This is a slower increase than the one recorded the month before, when industrial output soared 9.3%, which is its highest jump since March 2007.

The February, increase in industrial production was also slower than expected by four macroeconomic analysts polled by Hina who had anticipated a growth of 2.8 on average on the year, with their forecasts ranging from 1.8% to 3.7%.
