Over 106,000 VAT businesses operated in Croatia in 2015

Last year more than 106,500 businesses subject to Value Added Tax (VAT) operated in Croatia, employing 836,600 workers and generating HRK 639.6 billion in revenues and 17.1 billion in net profits, according to the latest figures provided by the Financial Agency (FINA).

The data do not include banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions, but only VAT businesses that submitted their annual financial statements to FINA.

Out of the total number of businesses, 32,400 or 30.4% had no employees, 30,700 operated regularly, 619 were in liquidation and slightly over a thousand were in receivership.
