Passenger car sales in Feb up 16%

The sale of new cars in Croatia in February 2016 increased 16.6% from the same month of 2015, to 2,583 cars, and the most popular vehicles were those manufactured by Volkswagen, the market research agency Promocija Plus has said.

A total of 327 Volswagen vehicles were sold last month, followed by 213 cars manufactured by Skoda, a member of the Volkswagen concern. Hyundai was third with 186 cars sold, followed by Opel and Renault, each with 181 cars sold.

As for the car model, as in January, in February too the most sold car was Volkswagen's Golf, with 132 vehicles sold. It was followed by the Suzuki Vitara, with 113 cars sold, and the Skoda Octavia with 105 cars sold.

Of the premium models, 94 Audios, 79 BMWs, 62 Mercedeses, five Porsches, one Jaguar and one Lexus were sold.

In the first two months of this year, a total of 5,010 passenger cars were sold, eight percent more than in the same period of last year.

The most sold cars were those manufactured by Volkwagen, followed by Skoda and Opel.

Of that number 2,140 cars were sold in the area of Zagreb, and only 16 were sold in Lika-Senj County.
