Rijeka shipyard launches tanker for Spanish client

A 51,000-tonne tanker built by the 3rd May shipyard in Rijeka for the Spanish company Marflet Marine was launched on Friday, the first of the four launches planned for this year.

The vessel is the first of the two tankers of the same characteristics that are being built for the Spanish client. It is 183 metres long, 32 metres, wide and 17 metres high, and will sail under the Cypriot flag. The keel was laid at the end of April 2015.

Hrvoje Markulincic, director of corporate communications at the Uljanik Group, of which the shipyard is a member, said that this was the third time that the owners of the Spanish company were visiting Croatia, adding that that was a confirmation that they were looking for quality.
