VW unions warn of breakdown in trust in carmaker's management

Volkswagen's unions warn of a breakdown in confidence in the carmaker's management in the wake of the exhaust emissions scandal, union officials tell dpa.

A "serious problem of trust" has emerged, the employees' representatives say, calling on VW to agree to a special contract to protect jobs and lay out investment plans.

The unions' proposed Pact for the Future would include firm agreements on "the number of vehicles produced and investment commitments for the coming years," the unions say.
