1,573 people who went missing in war still unaccounted-for

The remains of 21 people, killed in 1995 and later exhumed from individual and multiple graves, were identified at the Zagreb-based Forensics Institute on Monday, the War Veterans' Ministry's department for missing persons stated in a press release.

Currently, 1,573 persons who went missing in the 1991-1995 war are still unaccounted-for, according to the ministry's statistics. Of them, 931 were victims who went missing in 1991 and 1992, and 642 who went missing in 1995.

To date, 90% of the unaccounted-for war victims from the ministry's register have been identified.
