Andrej Plenkovic: HDZ lives in present and is turned to future

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Andrej Plenkovic has said that his party is deeply in the present, turned to the future and is also aware that it is necessary to come to terms with the past.

"I believe that the HDZ, which I presented with its agenda and its good programme for the election as well as with trustworthy people, is dwelling deeply in the present and is turned to the future. This is the HDZ that I want, with respect paid to the past and with coming to terms with the past," Plenkovic said on Saturday in the northern city of Varazdin where the street festival "Spancirfest" started a day before.

In this way, Plenkovic responded to criticism from Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Zoran Milanovic who insisted that the HDZ was still in the last century.

Plenkovic said he was satisfied with the personalisation of the HDZ campaign and with promotion of HDZ candidates both as HDZ members and people who could give an additional value that could attract voters.

HDZ candidates for the third constituency were presented during Plenkovic's visit to Varazdin.

Attending events within the Spancirfest festival, the HDZ leader described Varazdin as "a pulsating cultural centre in Croatia".
