Bandic's political party, several other parties sign coalition agreement

The political parties Bandic Milan 365 - The Party of Work and Solidarity, the People's Party - Reformists, the New Wave - Development Party, the Croatian Peasant Party Stjepan Radic and the pensioners' party BUZ signed in Vukovar on Tuesday a coalition agreement for early parliamentary elections set for September 11.

The agreement was signed by the parties' leaders Milan Bandic, Radimir Cacic, Ljubo Jurcic, Jurica Soic and Milivoj Spika.

The coalition's slogan is "A Coalition for the Prime Minister".

"This is a coalition representing competence, experience, work, solidarity, unity and determination. I am confident that after September 11 Croatia will take the right course. Let citizens on September 11 vote for themselves and for a better life if they want to live like residents of Zagreb. If they prefer experiments, let them vote for those who have impoverished them," Bandic said after the signing ceremony.

He said that the coalition was willing to cooperate with anyone who wished Croatia well.

The leader of the People's Party - Reformists, Radimir Cacic, said that their coalition would decide on Croatia's next prime minister. "We are people with results. The main difference between us and other coalitions is our competence and experience," said Cacic.

Ljubo Jurcic of the New Wave party said a country's best asset was its government, expressing confidence that their coalition was able to form a competent government.
