Bridge party hasn't backed either coalition for forming new govt.

The Bridge party informed President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Thursday that at this moment it did not back either the HDZ-led or the SDP-led coalition to form the new government, Bridge leader Bozo Petrov said.

He told reporters that Bridge had 16 votes at the moment and that a decision on the other two seats in parliament would be made by Sunday.

"We expect both sides to respond to what has been negotiated at the expert level so far, and then to our demands, which will be submitted very soon. I hope both sides will accept them so that we can sit at the table together," Petrov said.

He reiterated that Bridge was not committed either towards the HDZ's right or the SDP's left coalition at the moment. "We have our demands for reforms, a government of experts, and unity."

Petrov voiced confidence that, because of the situation in the country, a consensus would be reached on his party's demands. "I expect both sides to recognise that... I expect sufficient reason and wisdom, so that we can sit at the table together."

Speaking to the press earlier after a Bridge National Council meeting, Bridge member Ivan Kovacic said the party was "whole" and that it would continue to insist on a reform government.

He announced Bridge would convene over the weekend.
