Cacic, Vulin believe new election likeliest

The only elected member of the Reformists party, Radimir Cacic, said on Monday that he supported the nomination of Social Democrat leader Zoran Milanovic as Prime Minister-Designate, and criticised the Bridge party for trying to avoid responsibility for the formation of a new government.

After consultations on the future government with President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Monday morning, Cacic told the press that this round of talks was the same as on 26 November.

Cacic said that the developments would likely lead to new elections.

Cacic also criticised the SDP-led coalition and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)- led coalition for failure to reach agreement and "thus stop the blackmail by those who do not want to take over responsibility", alluding to Bridge.

Dragan Vulin of the Croatian Democratic Party of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB), which won two seats in the 151-seat parliament, said after the consultations that this party would not support either bloc and that a new parliamentary election was very likely.
