Company talks equipment of Croatian armoured vehicles with weapon stations

Croatia's Djuro Djakovic Holding on Thursday released a statement in the wake of media reports about the equipment of Croatian army armoured vehicles with weapon stations, saying that its share in the manufacturing of parts had neither been defined nor contracted for now and that it was not dependant on the results of a Defence Ministry tender for vehicle equipment.

Jutarnji List daily reported today that, because of lobbying by the Israeli company Elbit, the ministry had scrapped the development of weapon stations for armoured vehicles which Norway's Kongsberg was developing in cooperation with Djuro Djakovic.

Djuro Djakovic said that the MCT-30 Protector remote weapon station was selected for the repurposing of Stryker armoured vehicles, which are used by US forces in Germany. The company and Kongsberg have signed an agreement on cooperation in the development, marketing and manufacturing of the MCT-30 Protector, Djuro Djakovic said.

The company recalled that it was participating in a Croatian Defence Ministry tender for the equipment of Patria's AMV 8x8 vehicles with medium range weapon stations, and that it was offering the Croatian army the MCT-30 Protector in line with the tender requirements. Djuro Djakovic said the results of the tender were expected this year and that it was participating in tenders abroad with the same system in cooperation with Kongsberg.
