The Conflict of Interest Commission on Wednesday took action against several current and former office holders for failing to submit their declarations of assets or for failing to provide full data in their declarations.
The commission found that the former mayor of Knin and current Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) member of parliament, Josipa Rimac, had not submitted her declaration within the required time frame. After notification, she submitted the declaration, but incompletely and on an invalid form. She has been requested to fill in the declaration properly, which she has not done to date.
Rimac has been under investigation for alleged illegal acquisition of residential properties.
The former head of Sisak-Moslavina County, Marina Lovric Merzel of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who has been indicted for fraud estimated at several million kuna, failed to specify in her declaration of assets the addresses and market values of her real estate in kuna, her share in a company owned by her husband, and her husband's annual income.
