Croatian, Chinese science academies sign cooperation agreement

Vice President of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAZU), Academic Velimir Neidhardt, and the President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wang Weiguang, on Wednesday signed an agreement of cooperation between the two academies.

The agreement foresees the continuation of cooperation which began in 2004 and which encompasses organising joint scientific conferences, symposiums and counselling on topics of common interest, exchange of scientists and experts as well as joint research and publications, HAZU has reported.

Academic Neidhardt informed the Chinese delegation headed by Wang of the history and structure of the HAZU. In return, Wang expressed his pleasure with the cooperation to date and of overall relations between China and Croatia.

During the talks, special attention was dedicated to continuing cooperation within the China-CEE Countries Think Tanks Network. The president of HAZU's international relations committee, Milena Zic Fuchs, attended a symposium in Beijing and Shanghai last year organised by the network.
