Croatian president to attend Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit in Istanbul

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic will attend the seventh Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit in Istanbul on Thursday.

The summit, whose theme is "Building Stability and Business Resilience in Volatile Times," will bring together nearly 600 participants from more than 40 countries, including about 20 ministers of foreign affairs, energy and economic affairs as well as representatives of the private sector and civil society. Among those attending will be Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The meeting will focus on business opportunities, economy and energy as well as on geopolitical challenges in the region.

The annual Energy and Economic Summit aims to build bridges in a region spanning from Central Asia to Central Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean by bringing together influential stakeholders to promote and strengthen transatlantic engagement on energy, economic, and political challenges.

Among the topics of this year's summit will also be last week's terrorist attacks in Paris, Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based independent think-tank, has announced.
