The project "Support for the Development of Competence Centres", under which Croatian entrepreneurs and scientists will have access to HRK 785 million from European Union (EU) funds to develop products that will be competitive on the European market, was presented in the central Adriatic city of Zadar on Thursday.
Research and development as the priority for competence centres should boost the development of Croatia's economy and each county will define its own course of development, including Zadar, Economy Minister Tomislav Panenic said presenting the project.
Two days ago the Zadar County Centre of Competence invited calls for expression of interest in the project, with a deadline for the submission of bids set at September 6.
The project is open to entrepreneurs, scientific institutions, municipalities and cities. According to Panenic, 23 projects have been submitted since the launch of the project. The minimum amount of support is 1 million euro and the maximum is 15 million euro.
