E-Impulse loan scheme for micro and small enterprises launched

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts on Tuesday unveiled the HRK 250 million E-Impulse loan scheme for micro and small businesses, which will require minimum paperwork.

Under the scheme, micro and small enterprises will be able to apply for grants ranging between HRK 30,000 and HRK 300,000, provided by the European Regional Development Fund, Minister Darko Horvat said.

The funds are intended for encouraging investment in establishing new business units or expanding existing ones in production and production services. The deadline for the submission of project applications is September 30.

Grants will cover 85 percent of eligible costs for micro enterprises and 65 percent for small enterprises.

Horvat said that applicants would need to submit six documents only, and as of next year all grant applications would be processed electronically.

Last year 127 grants were awarded, and Horvat expects that this year their number will reach 2,000, namely for the manufacturing, construction and IT industries, as well as for various professional, scientific and technical activities. He said that efforts would be made to reduce the project approval time from the previous 190 days to 90 days.
