EBRD promoting Croatia as investment and cultural destination

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBED) and the online publication Business Emerging Europe are co-hosting a business conference in London on Thursday to promote Croatia as an investment and cultural destination, the EBRD has announced.

The event will bring together policymakers, investors and prominent business people to discuss the economic outlook on Croatia and explore investment opportunities in the country.

The EBRD described Croatia as a bridge between the European Union and the neighbouring Western Balkan countries, positioned to take a leading role as a link between central and southeastern Europe, and as a popular tourist destination with world-class agricultural and food products.

The EBRD recalled that Croatia had recorded a record tourist season last year with over 14 million visitors, an increase of over 8 per cent compared with 2014. The bank expects this growth trend to continue this year and sees great potential in strengthening Zagreb's role as a link between large markets.
