Gov't approves reimbursement of expenses in migrant crisis

The Croatian government on Thursday approved the reimbursement of 27.7 million kuna for costs incurred in accommodation and transport of 280,000 migrants passing through Croatia on their way to western and northern Europe, and the funds would be set aside from this year's budgets reserves.

Thus, the Health Ministry was awarded HRK 14.1 million to cover the expenses in providing medical care to refugees, and the directorate of the national stockpiles is to receive 5.1 million kuna for costs for providing food and shelter.

Also, the Interior Ministry is entitled to slightly over five million kuna for this purpose. while 3.4 million kuna will be transferred to the National Protection and Rescue Service (DUZS).

Finance Minister Boris Lalovac presented the state of affairs in the budgetary reserves and said that there were sufficient funds for outlays.
