Grabar-Kitarovic invites King Abdullah II of Jordan to visit Croatia

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic is currently on a working visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during which she has met with King Abdullah II for talks on strengthening bilateral political, economic and security relations and invited him to visit Croatia, her office said in a statement on Sunday.

Their meeting was a continuation of their talks on the margins of the Syria donor conference in London in mid-February.

They also exchanged views on key global challenges, in particular the Syrian crisis which has triggered a wave of refugees seeking shelter in neighbouring countries and Europe. Jordan has taken hundreds of thousands refugees.

Also discussed was the international fight against terrorism, extremism and radicalism.

Grabar-Kitarovic informed King Abdullah II about the situation in Southeast Europe, stressing the importance of giving these countries the prospect of joining the European Union and NATO for the sake of preserving stability in the region.
