Grabar-Kitarovic to visit US, Vukovar, Poland in January

In January, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic will make a working visit to the United States, temporarily transfer her office to Vukovar in eastern Croatia, and make an official visit to Poland, her office announced on Monday.

Grabar-Kitarovic will visit the Minnesota National Guard to mark 20 years of successful cooperation between Croatia and Minnesota through the State Partnership Program. She is due to meet with Governor Mark Dayton. She will then travel to Chicago and meet with representatives of the Croat community.

In Vukovar, the president will give a reception for members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Croatia to mark the anniversary of the reintegration of the Danube river region with the rest of Croatia and the 24th anniversary of Croatia's international recognition.

At the end of January, the president will visit Poland to strengthen overall relations and cooperation within the European Union and NATO. The official visit will focus on the strengthening of central European cooperation following Poland's support for stronger cooperation between the Baltic and the Adriatic as well as for the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea initiative.

The visit to Poland is also aimed at strengthening Croatian-Polish economic cooperation and the bulk of the delegation accompanying Grabar-Kitarovic will consist of Croatian businessmen.
