HDSSB, HKS sign coalition deal

The Croatian Democratic Alliance of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB) and the Croatian Conservative Party (HKS) have signed a coalition deal under which they will run together in the coming early parliamentary election in Constituencies Nos. 4 and 5, party leaders Dragan Vulin and Ruza Tomasic told a press conference in Bizovac, outside the eastern city of Osijek, on Wednesday.

Vulin told the news conference that the two parties had compatible platforms, notably regarding the protection of national interests, so they decided to jointly offer solutions for the problems in the Slavonia region.

Tomasic, a member of the European Parliament, said that after she managed to protect the rights of Croatian fishermen in the European Parliament, she would now work to protect the interests of farmers in Slavonia and Baranja.
