HDZ chief says there will be no political experiements after Sunday election

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)and its partners held their final election rally in Zagreb on Thursday evening when HDZ chief Andrej Plenkovic said there would be no more political experiments after the September 11 parliamentary election.

"Because of the results of the parliamentary election held last year and pressure from junior partners, the HDZ resorted to political experiments. As the HDZ chief I guarantee you there will be no experiments after Sunday," Plenkovic said at the rally.

He said he was confident voters would not waste their votes and vote for smaller parties which most definitely would not cross the election threshold, as those votes, according to him, would be wasted.

The event was also attended by MEP Doris Pack and European People's Party (EPP) president Joseph Daul who expressed their support to Plenkovic.
