HDZ ministers say not embarrassed to sit next to PM they want to impeach

Ministers from the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), the party that pushed for the impeachment of Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic, said ahead of a government session on Wednesday that they are attending the session because of the importance of the items on the agenda, while Economy Minister Tomislav Panenic of the junior party in government -

Reporters asked every HDZ minister if they were embarrassed to attend the session and sit next to the prime minister whom they are trying to impeach. Those who were prepared to answer reporters' questions said the reason for their coming to the session was the importance of the decisions and bills listed on today's agenda.

Construction Minister Lovro Kuscevic said he was not embarrassed to be at the session, adding: "I assure you that the HDZ is a state-building party and it will know how to make a decision that is in the interest of the Croatian state."

War Veterans Minister Tomislav Medved said a big job was ahead of the government, which was in the interest of citizens.

Regional Development Minister Tomislav Tolusic said he regretted that "Croatian citizens are going through this" and Enterprise Minister Darko Horvat said the government did not have a weakest link.

Interior Minister Vlaho Orepic of the Bridge party said after the government session that the HDZ had the opportunity and the obligation to protect national interests
