Hospitals to start hiring nurses again after new management boards are appointed

The hiring of nurses will start again in several weeks, after new hospital management boards and directors-general are appointed, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday when asked when it would repeal a ban on new hiring in medical institutions, considering a warning from a national union of nurses that the health system was short of 12,500 nurses.

Considering that the financial rehabilitation of medical institutions is being discontinued and those institutions are being returned to their founders for management, new hiring will start after hospitals get new management boards and new directors-general, which is expected to happen within several weeks' time, the ministry said.
