HRK 25 mln invested in Platak ski resort

Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Prefect Zlatko Komadina on Monday said that after HRK 25 million had been invested in the Platak ski resort, it had become a true sporting-recreation centre with facilities that are used in summer and winter, adding that over the next three years a further HRK 25 million would be involved to upgrade the ski slopes.

County representatives visited the ski resort near Rijeka and the recently reconstructed 'Veliki Dom' facility. Reconstruction was conducted to conveyor lifts, telecommunication and electricity infrastructure, barbecue facilities, parking areas and so on.

The director of a local sports centre, Dario Medvedec, said that a new bus line would start running next weekend from Rijeka to Platak. He added that he wished to attract skiers to Platak as well as bicyclists.
