HUP president says Croatia needs stable government

Croatia needs a stable reform-minded government that will step up the country's overall development, Croatian Employers' Association president Gordana Deranja said on Tuesday.

Deranja called on political stakeholders to be responsible and take all necessary measures, including an early parliamentary election, if necessary, to make sure that a political situation in the country gets stable and an economic growth is secured.

"We insist on a responsible behaviour and urgent stabilisation of the country. Croatia cannot afford this instability that we are witnessing to last any longer," Deranja said at a traditional gathering organised by the HUP on the national Entrepreneurs' Day.

She recalled that at last year's conference observing the Entrepreneurs' Day. she had said that 2015 was a lost year regarding serious reforms.

Now, 2016 also seems to be likely one more squandered year due to the ongoing political crisis and a paralysis of the system, the HUP president said.
