The head of the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP), Davor Majetic, said on Thursday that the reforms that had been announced by the government were not visible in its guidelines for drafting this year's budget.
"The guidelines show neither the reforms nor the changes that have been announced by this government. That's why the HUP will insist in further talks with the government that the reforms should be visible in the budget. The first year in office is definitely the best year for any government to launch serious and necessary changes that we need to make," Majetic told Hina.
Majetic said that "the guidelines show further organic economic growth and a further organic rise in costs, or costs remain unchanged."
The government on Thursday adopted the guidelines for drafting the 2016 budget, projecting revenue at HRK 113 billion and expenditure at HRK 120.4 billion, with a deficit of HRK 7.5 billion or 2.2% of GDP. The guidelines are based on a growth projection of 2%.
