Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Tomislav Karamarko and HDZ ministers will not come to parliament when a debate on the impeachment of Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic will be on the agenda, spokesman for the party Ivan Jabuka said on Thursday.
The HDZ insists on the decision that parliament gives a vote of no confidence in Oreskovic after a joint debate on government-sponsored amendments to the law on mandatory health insurance and on health care.
Parliament Speaker Zeljko Reiner said Prime Minister Oreskovic, under the Standing Orders, had no right to address parliament during the debate on the proposal on his impeachment because the government had not voiced its opinion about it, but added that Oreskovic would be given the floor regardless.
Miroslav Simic of the Bridge party reiterated before today's debate that Bridge would not take part in a government reshuffle but that it was in favour of a new election, showing the signatures of 12 Bridge MPs who will vote in favour of parliament's dissolution in case Oreskovic receives a vote of no confidence.
