Karamarko says has two candidates for post of SOA chief

First Deputy Prime Minister and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Tomislav Karamarko said in Obrovac, in the Zadar hinterland, on Saturday that he had two candidates for the post of the Security-Intelligence Agency (SOA) chief.

Commenting on media reports that Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic would nominate Daniel Markic for the post of SOA chief, Karamarko said that he knew nothing about it.

"I have no information that the Prime Minister has co-signed anything or put forward an official proposal. I hope that this is just media spin, because being the leader of the victorious party I, too, prefer some candidates and have proposals for the Prime Minister and expect this to be resolved accordingly," said Karamarko, but did not wish to reveal the names of his candidates.
