Milanovic, Komadina candidates for SDP president

The Main Committee of the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Saturday confirmed the nominations of Zoran Milanovic and Zlatko Komadina for party president, whereby the official election campaign in the strongest opposition party began.

Milanovic is the incumbent party president and Komadina a vice president.

The third candidate for the post, Dusko Polovina Lungo, failed to collect the required 1,000 signatures for his nomination. He said after the Main Committee session that he was prevented from collecting signatures because the organisations in the field were split between those who supported Milanovic or Komadina, because of which he could not collect signatures in the party's offices.
