More than 234,000 migrants enter Croatia since mid Sept

Between midnight and 0900 hrs Saturday, a total of 3,351 migrants entered Croatia and since 16 September, when migrants began arriving in Croatia, a total of 234,708 entered the country, the Croatian Ministry of the Interior said on Saturday.

Currently there are 1,300 persons staying at the reception centre in Opatovac, eastern Croatia, and more migrants are expected to arrive from Serbia, the ministry said.

The police from the Slovenian town of Novo Mesto said on Saturday morning that a new group of migrants was arriving towards the town Rigonce, near the Croatian-Slovenian border crossing of Harmica/Rigonce and that they were crossing the so-called green border. The group came by train around 0500 hours. According to figures provided by Croatian authorities, there were 1,339 migrants on the train.
