No quorum prevents minister from informing committee of his decision

A lack of quorum prevented the parliamentary committee on education, science and culture from holding a formal meeting, scheduled for Monday, following Culture Minister Zlatko Hasanbegovic's decision to dissolve the Non-Profit Media Commission, a move that has angered a part of journalists and some non-profit media outlets.

Although Hasanbegovic came to present his position, committee chair Gordana Rusak said that the committee had to convene a new meeting on this topic after it was established that there was no quorum at today's session.

The minister expressed regret at not being able to discuss today the matter either formally or informally.

I am always ready to accept your invitation, although this a precedent in the parliamentary practice, Hasanbegovic said, adding that the parliament "is always entitled to be informed of everything" regarding the work of the executive authorities.
