Outgoing ministers satisfied with their performance

Speaking to reporters before the incumbent government's last session on Thursday, some ministers described their performance as successful, citing figures which show progress in their departments.

Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin said the number of bed/nights in October increased 5.5 percent, while bed/nights this year were more than 7% higher from 2014. "That's a record growth in Croatian tourism."

He said his ministry had changed the way of thinking and that this was the biggest capital for the future. "We encompassed private accommodation, 25 hotels were opened, half a billion euros was invested this year, next year 40% more will be invested in Croatian tourism."

Lorencin said the budget had been consolidated, creating a foundation for development, and that this government deserved another term in office.

Justice Minister Orsat Miljenic too said he was satisfied with his performance, citing a 30% drop in the number of pending cases, from 830,000 to 550,000, a 100-day reduction in the duration of trial proceedings, the introduction of consumer bankruptcy, and informatization.

Health Minister Sinisa Varga said he was more than satisfied, as "very much" had been achieved by his ministry.

Entrepreneurship and Crafts Minister Goran Maras too said his ministry had accomplished "very much".

A parliamentary election is being held on Sunday.
