Over 366,000 refugees recorded passing through Croatia since mid-Sept

From Wednesday midnight until 9 am Thursday, a total of 2,260 migrants were recorded entering Croatia, bringing the number of refugees passing through Croatia since mid-September to over 366,000, according to the updated data provided by the Croatian Interior Ministry.

The winter transit centre in the eastern Croatian city of Slavonski Brod was catering for 1,208 refugees on Thursday morning. Croatia is braced for a continued trend of an increasing number of refugees arriving from the Middle East and Africa via Serbia.

On Wednesday, Slovenia started erecting a razor wire fence along its green border with Croatia in a bid to reduce the intake of refugees. However, some parts of the fence encroached upon Croatia's territory which prompted Croatia to protest with the charge d'affaires at the Slovenian Embassy in Zagreb.

On Thursday morning, the situation defused along the border where the disputable fence had been put up.
