Petrov heading Bridge slate in Constituency No. 10, Orepic in Constituency No. 1

Bridge leader Bozo Petrov confirmed on Friday that he would be heading his party's slate in Constituency No. 10 and that Vlaho Orepic would be heading the slate in Constituency No. 1, which covers Zagreb, dismissing remarks that he was not running in Constituency No. 1 because he was afraid of the confrontation with Social Democratic Party leader Zoran Milanovic and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Andrej Plenkovic.

"I do care about that challenge... I said that I would listen to the majority in Bridge, and the majority has decided that I should be heading the slate in Constituency No. 10, because it was there (Metkovic) that this whole political story started, and it would only be fair to them to compete there," Petrov said after Bridge today submitted its slates to the State Electoral Commission (DIP).

Answering a reporter's question, he said it was the party's decision that he should top the slate. "I would not have any problem being in any other position in any other constituency."

He confirmed that Bridge would be running in all 11 constituencies.

He did not reveal other names on the slates, saying only that Bridge spokesman Nikola Grmoja would be second on the slate for Constituency No. 6, which covers the southeastern part of Zagreb County, Sisak-Moslavina County and the southeastern part of the city of Zagreb.

Commenting on SDP leader Milanovic's call on the HRT public broadcaster to also invite Petrov to participate in a debate with him and Plenkovic, to be televised on Friday evening, Petrov said that Milanovic's invitation was not sincere.

"Had he really meant it, he would have set that as a condition and as far as I know, he didn't, he has done so for the sake of politeness," Petrov said.
