Picula says will support Komadina as candidate for SDP president

Croatian Social Democrat member of the European Parliament Tonino Picula said on Sunday that he would support Zlatko Komadina's candidacy for the president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and that he expected the SDP Main Committee to discuss the results of the last parliamentary elections, which were lost by the SDP-led Croatia Is Growing coalition.

"I believe that (Komadina) is a man who has been committed to the values of social democracy from the very beginning, who has been affirming a politically credible SDP, who knows how to face his own weaknesses but also knows very well how to win citizens' trust in elections," Picula said on his Facebook account, adding that he would not run for SDP president but that he would run in elections for the SDP Presidency.

He recalled that the SDP Main Committee would hold a session next week and that he expected it to discuss the results of the last parliamentary elections, which were lost by the Croatia Is Growing coalition.
