Plenkovic: HDZ wants to agree most essential things with Bridge this week

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Andrej Plenkovic said on Monday that everything in the negotiations with the Bridge party was proceeding in line with an agreed road map, that today was no D Day and that the HDZ wanted to agree all the most essential things with Bridge this week.

Responding to questions from the press, he said the two parties would resume the negotiations in the afternoon. He denied that today was D Day, saying that everything would be agreed by the inaugural session of the new parliament on the 14th.

Plenkovic said the negotiations were proceeding normally. "Let's not create some artificial tension."

Asked if next Monday he would bring President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic the required 76 signatures of MPs to be appointed prime minister-designate, he said "possibly."

Asked if he advocated a vertical management of ministries or that partners should control each other, Plenkovic said that, from his point of view, there was no control but a single, uniform government policy and working together in the government.
