Prime Minister-Designate Tihomir Oreskovic met on Wednesday afternoon with Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) leader Tomislav Karamarko, as well as with the outgoing Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak, with whom he discussed the energy sector.
"It is very important that I... obtain as much information as possible. Mr Vrdoljak, Minister Vrdoljak and I have known each other from before and we have a very good relationship, and today we met to discuss the state of the economy, the main investments awaiting Croatia and the stage they are in," Oreskovic told the commercial television Nova TV when asked about the reason for his meeting with Vrdoljak.
Nova TV said the energy projects discussed were Plomin C, the LNG terminal on the island of Krk, the INA-MOL case, and reasons for the current halt in a project for oil exploration and exploitation in the Adriatic.
Oreskovic also said that he had regular meetings with Karamarko, leader of the Patriotic Coalition, and revealed the stage of negotiations on the new government.
"We have been in touch the whole day. We had a meeting today and discussed government formation, and we plan to meet next week. We will begin that process on Monday," Oreskovic said, adding that he also talked on the telephone with Bridge leader Bozo Petrov today and that he, Karamarko and Petrov would meet on Monday to start negotiations and to start forming a good government.
