Polish woman with radioactive material nabbed at Croatia border crossing

A Polish woman who was transporting radioactive isotope of radium -- radium-226 -- was arrested at the Karasovici border crossing between Croatia and Montenegro on Monday, the Croatian prosecutorial authorities stated on Wednesday.

The Polish citizen, 45, was apprehended at the border crossing when it was discovered that she was transporting a glass jar which contained RA-226, according to a press release issued by the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor (DORH).

She was taken into custody for violation of regulations on hazardous materials.
