President calls for resolving gov't crisis as soon as possible

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Friday called on all political stakeholders in the country to see to it that the government crisis was resolved as soon as possible, noting that interests of the state came before party or personal interests.

As a young democracy Croatia is faced with lack of stability, Grabar-Kitarovic said in an interview with Narodni Radio, noting that such situations in other countries were not unusual and expressed confidence that the situation would stabilise.

"In other countries such situations are not unusual but I call on all political stakeholders to put an end to this situation as soon as possible because citizens are impatient, they need to be shown responsibility and the determination to put state interests above party or personal interests," she said.

"We must bear in mind that the tourist season is approaching as is the evaluation of the credit rating... Things have started to go in the right direction, we have economic growth, exports and production are growing, trends are good, let us all invest a bit more effort to make this tourist season the best so far and achieve economic growth of more than three percent," said Grabar-Kitarovic.
