President to convene parliament's inaugural session for Oct 14

President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic will convene the inaugural session of the ninth Croatian parliament for October 14 and a second round of consultations on the formation of a new government for October 10.

The president said so on Wednesday after the first round of consultations in her office, which she said showed that at the moment no one had the support of the number of MPs required for appointing a prime minister-designate.

"However, I must express satisfaction with the dynamic and atmosphere of the talks held today with everyone, during which all elected deputies and parties showed constructiveness and responsibility for the formation of a stable government and, thereby, responsibility to all our citizens, to everyone who went to the polls and to their wish for dealing with the life problems of Croatian citizens and all development issues which are essential so that the Republic of Croatia can boost its economy, economic growth, and solve burning life issues," the president said.
