Protesting veterans considering ending their protest

Veterans of the 1991-95 Homeland War, including those with 100% disability, who have been protesting outside the Veterans Affairs Ministry for 412 days, demanding the resignation of Minister Predrag Matic and his two associates and better treatment of the veteran community by state institutions, are considering ending the protest and dismantling the tent where they have been holding the protest, veteran leader Djuro Glogoski told Hina on Saturday.

"We are considering ending the protest but we still do not know when we will do it," said Glogoski, who also leads the Association of Homeland War Veterans with 100% Disability.

He said that considering the current political situation in the country, with politicians not being able to reach an agreement on a new government, the protesting veterans were considering ending their action.

Glogoski confirmed that the protesters had not been contacted by any political party since the November 8 elections.

"Obviously nobody is interested in dealing with the problems of the veteran population," said Glogoski, adding that once the protest ended, war veterans would continue working to help solve problems encountered by the veteran community.
